Schilke Eb Pocket Trumpet
I converted this Schilke E1 trumpet for Stanton Haugen of Honolulu Hawaii. It seems like this trumpet would even less utility than a Bb pocket trumpet, but Stanton must enjoy playing the higher trumpets, knowing that he also has a Schilke Eb cornet.
This was one of the simpler conversions that I’ve done. I was able to use the original bell curve for the second curve on the pocket version and the bell, being smaller diameter was easier to bend. It was actually more difficult to bend the original mouthpipe to line up perfectly below the existing tuning slide tube. I had to shorten the tuning tubes only about 1/2” each side.
As near as I can tell, the pocket version plays just as good as the full length trumpet and looks quite a bit more interesting.
